If you are a member of a faith-based organization like a church, you have probably heard about the “church ladies” bill which is part of Minnesota Statutes 157.22 and was amended during the 2011 legislative session.
According to the guidance documents for the change, “Minnesota Statutes Chapter 157 governs the licensure and inspection of public food and beverage establishments, hotels, motels, lodging establishments and resorts. Exemptions for food establishments are found in section 157.22. During the 2011 Legislative Session, Senate File 477 made changes to section 157.22. The changes affect faith-based organizations and are effective August 1, 2011.”

"Newspapers' Place in History" shows how newspapers were produced in the past, using letterpress equipment. It also describes the important role newspapers play in democracy.
The DVD was shot at the Minnesota Newspaper Museum, located on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in St. Paul. The museum funded by private donations is a working newspaper office as they were in the 1930s.
This is a snippet of the 15 minute documentary produced by the Minnesota Newspaper Foundation with a generous grant from the Minnesota Historical Society's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, made possible by the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment to the Minnesota Constitution established in November of 2008.
To order a full-length DVD version, to donate to the operation of the museum or for more information contact Julie Bergman, julie@wiktel.com, 1004 20th Ave SE, East Grand Forks, MN 56721
